Zubak L. Feodosiy Rohovy's Creative Work. Problems and Style.

The dissertation investigates creative work of the prominent Ukrainian prose-writer Feodosiy Rohovy, the State Taras Shevchenko Prize winner (1992). The main periods of the writer's life are viewed; conceptual and aesthetic sources of his creative activity are determined. The thematic dominants of Rohovy's prose are analysed within the context of the Ukrainian Literature of the 1970s-1980s. The sources of the writer's original poetics are investigated; the formation of his creative style under the influence of the aesthetic search of the sixties' movement, and some foreign writers is viewed. The main artistic principles determining genre and style peculiarities are established; the author's expressive means, his stylistic devices, and character drawing peculiarities are analysed. F. Rohovy's creative work is regarded as an integral phenomenon; the role and place of this prose-writer in the literary process of the second half of the 20th century are substantiated.
