Object of the thesis - obomastics of Ukrainian magic fairy-tales in comparison with Russian ones. Purpose - the study of the quantitative and qualitative composition and functional features of folk names. The methods used - descriptive, historico-comparative, structural-functional. Novelty - onomastic space of the fairy-tale is viewed as a fragment of national culture. Theoretical significance - an attempt to realize the mechanisms of including proper names in fairy-tales has been made. Practical application - in compiling the dictionary of proper names of Ukrainian and Russian folklore.
