The dissertation deais with the problem of formation and development of oral spontaneous speech habits and skills using the works of fiction. The methods of teaching oral spontaneous speech using the material of the works of fiction were worked out for the primary stage students of the linguistic department. The complex of exercises presented in this work supposes the process of stage-by-stage "context" and "semantic" interpretation of the poetic details. The main results of the research of the were applied practically in teaching the primary stage students of the linguistic department.
