The object of study - the Ukrainian terms-variants fixed in vocabularies of the 20th-90th years of XX century. The aim of study is to determine the peculiarities of correlation's of the linguistic norm and variance in the Ukrainian terminology. Descriptive, comparative, statistic and other methods have been used. Chronological correlation's and inner potentialities of terms-variants in the different periods of Ukrainian terminological systems' development are determined. Application field - terminology, lexicography.
