Andrijchuk L. Physiological and hygienic justification for the criteria of the regulation and estimation of the noise produced by home electric appliances

The dose approach, the noise modelling on the basis of social-hygienic inquiry and acoustic measurements, the qualitative and statistic analysis of the displacement of the parameters of the sensitivity of psycho-physiological functions of a human organism under influence of the factor, and methods of analytical synthesising and mathematical analysis of the results were used as methodological approaches for hygienic regulation of the factor studied. It has been established that the noise produced by home appliances and devices (HA), the sources of acoustic pressure (equivalent noise level of 64.4 dBA, about 700-time higher than allowed noise doses) in the dwelling because of their acoustic characteristics and the aggravation phenomenon, disturbs 60% of the population.The relationship was revealed between the assessment of HA as a source of the noise and peculiarities of the human organism.The formation patterns of the psycho-physiological effects of the HA noise of the medium and low intensity were stud ied. The principles and the criteria of the estimation and regulation of the HA noise were analysed and improved. The allowed limit values of the criteria were established.
