The thesis is devoted to the research of the theoretical aspects of the continuity in law based on the background of general analysis of this process in legal systems of the states of Europe and in the world and, first of all, in Ukraine. The author has developed a new approach to the concept of the continuity in law. The results of the research aim at preservation of the previous progressive elements (principles, norms, institutes, branches, forms, legal terminology) of national law with the corrective amendment to the transferred (directly or through European or International Law) legal values from different legal systems of Europe and of the world.
