Wear of wheel flanges and quality of motion of railway rolling stock. Decreasing the intensity of freight car wheel flange wear. Mathematical modeling, methods of analytical mechanics and theory of elasticity, experimental investigation of rolling stock dynamics. Mathematical model of wheel/rail interaction has been developed. Mathematical model of freight car/track system has been improved. Bogie imperfections that lead to flange wear increasing have been revealed. Recommendations about running gear parameters, wheel profile shape and order of dynamics tests of rolling stock have been proposed. Results have been used in theme No0196U023134. Railway transport.
