Elementary increment of the core current was proved a universal estimate of the current transfer effectiveness in the dendrites of arbitrary geometry and membrane properties. The link is found between the geometry, the type of the local steady current-voltage relation of the membrane, and the somatopetal current transfer effectiveness of different sites of a dendritic arborization during tonic distributed excitation. It was demonstrated that the structural asymmetry of neurons, particularly the branching asymmetry, defines the effectiveness of different parts of a dendritic field.
