Essay

In the dissertation investigated the development of occupational-induced cataract pecuilairities at Chernobyl Liquidators cohort. It was revealed (89,9%) inctrease of the rate of indicated lens opasities in comparison with the control group (45,6%). At the male cohort of the Liquidators was indicated more lens opacities then in the female cohort. A dose-dependent increasing of the catarct frequency at subjects with less then 40 years age was observed. Non-subjeective assessment utilizing Scheimpflug image proved a dose-dependent decrease of posterior subcapsular (PSC) transparency of the lens in cohort with age less then 40 years. Annual increasing incidence of all cataract quantity was 19,7%, but the second and more stages of cataracts increased only on 2,15% in average. It was found with factor analysis that the dose of radiation exposure, age and diseases of gastrointestinal tract and liver had more significant influence for development of cataract that other studied factors. The most informatively significant model included dose and age of radiation exposure. It was developed and implement the preventive maesures for cataract at Liquidators cohort.
