General regularities and peculiarities of the course of a posttraumatic inflammatory process caused by injured structures of the posterior eye segment have been studied in experiment. It has been established that an increase of proteolysis of low- and high-molecular eye protein structures, inhibition of the fibrin enzymatic lysis and collagenase activity are the preconditions of posttraumatic intraocular fibrosogenesis and disorders of the electroretinographic characteristics of the visual analyzer. Endotoxin of the gram-negative microflora creates a powerful potential of vasoconstriction and chemotaxis due to an increase of the generation of thromboxane A2 and leukotriene B4 resulting in a "breakthrough" of the antioxidant defense of the ocular tissues and is accompanied by an elevated content of interleukin-1( and the tumour necrotizing factor ( with a prolonged dysfunction of the oculohematic barrier.
