The metaphorical use of verbal forms of Mood and Tense in modern Ukrainian language. The research is carried out in the aspect of functional grammar and semantic pragmatics. The methods of the investigation are components, contrastive analysis, linguistic experiment. The results make used of the teaching in secondary and high school, for training of foreign students, in translating practice.
