The thesis researches the scholars' humour of the XVII-XVIIIth centuries as a phenomenon of Ukrainian low baroque. Using the complex studies of poetic and rhetoric theory and literature of Ukrainian baroque there is given a theoretical description and historic/literary sense of the term "Ukrainian low baroque"; the genre and stylistic specifics of the low stylistic level of baroque literature is being researched; it's coordinates in the artistic system in particular and in a national literary process in general are being defined.
