3. The thesis deals with of rezults of studies on biological peculiarities and productivity of sugar beet seed depending on fraction size, variety kind and agroclimatic conditions. It has been established that seeds of registered varieties and hybrids produced in the South-West and Central part of the Forest - Steppe zone of Ukraine (Vinnytsa region) contain considerable portion (18-21 %) of fruits of small - sized fraction (3.0-3.5 mm), 15-20 % fruits of the 4.5-5.5 mm fraction, but the main portion of seeds (62-63 %) belongs to the 3.5-4.5 mm fraction. Fractional composition of seed, its buological characteristics derend not only biological forms of sugar beet, but also on meteorogical conditions of seed growing. It was shown that under modern state of sugar beet growing technology, sowing fractions within 3.25-5.5 mm limits of populanio - varieties and hybrids actually do not differ in their productive characteristics. Under similar growing conditions, ms hybrids, irrespective of differences in seed guality, exceed in productivity population - varieties.
