The dissertation deals with forming English writing habits and skills of the students whose first foreign language is Spanish. The new method of teaching English writing is offered and worked out in the thesis. The problems solved in the research represent the teaching writing approach based on students' using writing skills of the first foreign language, which can accelerate or create obstacles to the second foreign language mastering. The Spanish and English writing systems' comparative analysis has been done. The contents of studying has been determined. The effective system of exercises has been offered. It provides a variety of contrasting exercises. The ways of modeling teaching writing process have been specified. The developed methodical recommendations in teaching writing will enable its effective realization.
