The dissertation investigates the nature and character of the civil-military relations in the society, generalizes the scientific approaches in research of the civil-military relations in Ukraine and other countries, coordinates and defines the basic categories and concepts which in combination with developed model make bases of the theory of state management of the civil-military relations focused on arranging them in order emphasis the preservation of stability and conformity with modern conditions of transformation of the Ukrainian society. The issues on modernization of the mechanisms of the civil-military relations at nation-wide and local levels of management are developed.
