Essay

The dissertation is devoted to the investigations of the features of ion cyclotron resonance in nonuniform plasma. The first of them concerns the effects of inhomogeneity in a magnetic field over Larmor radius of ions. Those effects turn out to be substantial while fast magnetosonic waves spread over plasma across a magnetic field. The second feature of cyclotron resonance is connected with the fact that, for multi-ple cyclotron resonsnces, inhomogeneity in density and temperature of ions should be taken into account, along with the spatial dispersion caused by the finite Larmor ra-dius of ions.
