Essay

The dissertation is devoted to the immunophenotypic studies of splenic lymphoid cells in patients with hereditary spherocytosis, autoimmune hemolytic anemia, immune thrombocytopenic purpura (ITP), lymphoid neoplasms. Participation of splenic lymphoid compartment in the development of nonmalignant disorders of spleen was proved. It was cleared that populations of lymphoid cells in peripheral blood didn't corresponded to these ones in splenic tissue in normal individuals as well as in patients with different diseases. The influence of previous corticosteroid therapy on splenic immune system and on clinical course of disease was shown in ITP. Immunophenotypic studies of neoplastic lymphoid cells in spleen or peripheral blood in majority of cases make possible to diagnose certain lymphoproliferative disorders, to evaluate their prognosis and to make monitoring of treatment results, in particular of splenectomy.
