Essay

The dissertation analyzes the mass media functioning in the post-communist countries. Mass media is a transmitter between politics' subjects. It was stated that mass media was an influential factor of the political regimes and states formation and transformation, making them legitimate or illegitimate by behavior acts broadcasting and public opinion formation. Political socialization process of a person under mass media influence was also analyzed. Mass media influences on audience by actualizing political norms and values. It was defined that national and international information flows were mixed up.Ukraine, Russia and Poland form their national information space. They protect themselves from global information flows pressure partially. Asymmetrical foreign political strategies in information space between Ukraine and Russia were defined. But these countries speak about strategic partnership at an official level. We can affirm that "information warfare" exists from the side of Russia towards Ukraine. Asymmetrical foreign political strategies were defined between Ukraine and Poland either. Though Ukraine supports an official position of strategic partnership towards Poland at an information level, the latter does not pay any attention to Ukraine. The state of "information warfare" was not defined between those countries.
