Essay

The thesis is devoted to the examination of 158 patients with gallstone disease that underwent laparoscopic cholecystectomy. Apart from usual clinical examination а complex clinical and laboratory examination including oesophagogastro-duodenoscopy, ultrasound, roentgenography, duodenal intubation, and biochemical analysis of bile were performed. The diagnostic criteria for postcholecystectomy syndrome connected mainly with the loss of physiologic role of gallbladder as a result of its removal were specified. It was shown that restoration of the impaired functions of organs in bilioduodenal system and normalization of biochemical composition of bile is one of the central postoperative problems in patients with postcholecystectomy syndrome. It was established that long-term results of cholecystectomy depend not only on early and qualitative performance of the operation but as well on adequate pathogenically based drug therapy programs after the operation. The administration of bile acid preparation, bio flavonoids, and non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs are recommended in patients with postcholecystectomy syndrome.
