Kotlyar Y. Synagogues of Ukraine of the Second Half of the 16-th - Early 20-the Centuries as Historical and Cultural Phenomenon.

. The dissertation is concentrated on the culturological phenomenon of Ukrainian synagogues of the second half of the 16-th - early 20-th centuries. The paper presents general historical and genetical problems of the structure and semiotics of Jewish sacral edifices, which constitutes morphological and semantic basis of Ukrainian synagogal buildings. The historic typological dynamics of construction of synagogues in Ukraine is analysed, the classification of synagogues is done. The author exposes the fundamentals of design, symbolic structure and stylistics of architectural artistic image of Jewish temples, and shows its connection with the cultural processes and the Jewish identity.
