The object of study: nonstationary electromagnetic phenomena. The aim of study: development of new methods of investigation and study an electromagnetic signal propagation in time-varying dielectric and plasma media. Methods: integral equation method, modal basis method. Theoretical and practical results: The effective numerical algorithm for solving Volterra integral equation in the time domain has been developed. It enables to study signal propagation in time-varying dielectric and plasma media with a stratified inhomogeneity in the one-dimensional case and has high stability and accuracy. The problem of electromagnetic signal transformation in a time-varying plasma layer with a plasma density changing in time from a certain moment has been solved. A solution is found by means of the resolvent obtained. A solution to the problem of the propagation of electromagnetic signal with given temporal-spatial distribution in a plasma with a time-varying external magnetic field has been obtained. Features oft he plane wave transformation in the case of abrupt change in the external magnetic field has been studied. The area of application: time-varying electrodynamics.
