Essay

The dissertation is devoted to the analysis of the parliamentary responsibility of the government - a form of the political and legal, constitutional responsibility of the highest executive body before the society through the mediation of the representative assembly, the parliament. Such a mechanism allows to certify the presence or absence of the confidence of the majority of parliament members in the government, of their support of its actions. Thus, this mechanism serves as a mean to assure the responsiveness of the government to the paramount problems of society, the adherence of the government to the program of actions, endorsed by the parliament. In the dissertation, the author examines the nature of the parliamentary responsibility of the government, the main stages of its genesis and development, its dependence on the model of the from of government, adopted in a country. The author analyses the peculiarities of the development of the parliamentary responsibility of government in Ukraine in the context of the relations between the legislative and executive branches of power.
