The object of research is compositional microprogram control units. The aim of research is minimization of the chip's ammount in the circuits of automata to be designed.In the process of research the formal tools of finite state machines theory, set's theory and Boolean algebra have been applied.As the result, new structures and design methods of compositional microprogram control units with improved characteristics have been obtained. An area of efficient applications of proposed methods and analytical estimation of hardware ammount as function on parameters of flow-chart and PLDs have been determined. The area of application includes plant which develop the digital devices using PLDs
