PARNIKOZA T. Employment of laserpuncture in the treatment of elderly patients with closed brain injury

This Thesis deals with the issues of substantiation of the clinical application of a combined therapy - laserpuncture with infrared laser irradiation in combination with medication - in the treatment of late effects of closed brain injuries in the elderly patients. The employment of laserpuncture is shown to affect certain stages of the pathogenesis of injury disorders of the brain, thus being a pathogenetic treatment method. The offered combined therapy is found to make it possible to increase the efficacy of treatment through mutual potentiation of positive effects. The data obtained by using the methods of investigation of the condition of the microcirculation that has been employed in this study (laser Doppler flowmetry, telebiomicroscopy of the capillaries of the nail matrix and telebiomicroscopy of the vessels of the bulbar conjunctiva) are shown to be appropriate information criteria for the specification of age-related peculiarities of the microcirculation and their changes as a result of a clo sed brain injury.
