The task of research in the thesis are methods and algorithms of image processing with the purpose of its contrast enhancement through taking into account the features of local neighbourhoods and properties of visual perception. The informational technologies of adaptive contrast enhancement of images taking into account characteristics of its local neighbourhoods and properties of visual perception are worked out. A number of methods for image enhancement by indirect its contrast enhancement and adaptive enhancement of local contrast arc worked out. The method of complex quantitative estimation of visual quality of digital images are built.The main results of the thesis are applied into industry.
