3. In the given dissertation the specific character of the historical novel in the 1990s as a genre and the main aspects of its investigation have been presented. Three tupological subgenres have been analysed: Historically realistic, conventionally historical, synthetik. A vast field of historical and literari materials having been yet unresearched, we have included them in the given research in order to fill the gaps in the investigation of the history of the genre, as well as its peculiar artistic features both in the literary context and literary process.
