The thesis shows the essence and peculiarities of the artistic realization of the national-cultural component in the Historical novel on the basis of the complex studying of D. Mordovtsja's life and works. While studying the peculiarities of the writer's artistic and esthetic thinking, are discovered. The artist's creative individuality is examined in context of the social and cultural atmosphere of the second half of the 19-th century.
