Essay

Initial material for corn hybrid breeding with intensive moisture return by grain. Grain's moisture of self-pollinated lines and maize hybrids, factors determining its level. Identification of self-pollinated maize lines according to their ability of intensive grain's moisture return and developing the principles of pair selection while hybridized. Organoleptic, weight-measuring, mathematical-statistical, comparatively-calculative. Hereditary peculiarities and classificational criterions of the sign "maize grain's moisture return" and its changebleness in different grain maturing phases according to the complex influence of plant's morphological signs and abiotic environmental factors are discovered. Rapidly-drying out maize lines that reach their physiological ripeness on the 46th 49th day after corncobs' blossom with gathering moisture of 13-16% and rapidly-drying out maize hybrids with 70-71h.kg/ga crop yield and gathering moisture of 16-17% are offered for the selection practice. Author's elaborati ons are introduced in the National Centre of Plants' Genetic Resources of Ukraine based on the Institute of Plant Growing after V.Y.Yurjev UAAS, the Institute of Fodder of UAAS, Vinnitsa state agricultural exsperimental station of UAAS. They provide power-resources reducing in post-harvesting maize grains' treatment to reach standard moisture level of 19-20% and increase selection work effectiveness. Agricultural manufacture.
