Essay

The object of research is emotion sphere of patients with paranoid schizophrenia. The aim of research is to establish the peculiarities of disturbances of object and affective components of emotions in patients with paranoid schizophrenia. The investigation is based on two-component model of emotions: emotion is unity of reflected object content (object component of emotion) and emotional experience proper (affective component). A main method was a method of laboratory experiment. Also method of observation, method of analysis of case histories, methods of mathematical statistics were used. It is established that in paranoid schizophrenia object component is disturbed in the case of both positive and negative emotions: significant object attributes are ignored and insignificant object attributes are used as emotional. Connection of object component of emotion with affective component is tоo labile, unstable. Affective component of positive emotions is disturbed more than the affective component of ne gative ones. Changes of positive emotions have the character of deficiency. Changes of negative emotions in paranoid schizophrenia are distinctive: increase of frequency is accompanied by diminution of intensity, activating influence.
