The thesis represents a comprehensive study of Romanic adoptions in Ukrainian dialects; the spectrum and intensity of Romanic languages impact on the Ukrainian dialects are defined; the chronology of ukrainian-romanic linguistic contacts is determined. The results can be used in etymological and dialectal dictionaries and in lexical atlases.
