Essay

Using resonance oscillation technique the energy losses in hard bulk HTS in AC magnetic field have been investigated. It has been shown, that energy losses take place by three mechanisms: hysteretic losses, losses due to the motion of magnetic flow and losses due to overcoming of the surface barrier. The results can be used in applications based on the levitation effect.
