Essay

Main lines of raising economic and ecological efficiency of rice production under market conditions have been substantiated. Principles of assessing economic and ecological efficiency of rice production were formulated, a technigue for estimating this efficiency was perfected. A wide range estimation of long term availability of rice sowing areas was made. Database for monitoring rice production in Southern Ukraine was created. The results obtained contribute to the existing theoretical and practical experience of rice growing in the south of Ukraine, favor the increase in economic and ecological efficiency of rice production and they are also put into practice of growing agribusinesses of the Kherson region
