Objekt - the Ukrainian vocabulary denoting taste. Aim - to conduct a research on the development of words denoting taste, to deduce their etymology, to find out the lexical and semantic structure and stylistic functions of the lexemes which were mentioned above. Scientific novelty - the thesis is the first systemic and structural research on the thematic groups of words denoting taste in the Ukrainian language. Practical application - the findings of the research can be used in the college and university teaching practice, and in the process of compiling dictionaries.
