Samples of Bukovinian political writing of the Late XIX - early XX centuries are studied. Origins of Ukrainian political writing in Bukovina are established and analyzed. The process of its making and the relationship with the development of political writing in other Ukrainian territories are investigated. The role of the newspaper "Bukovina" in the campaign for the universal Ukrainian literary language, its functional richness and purity. The analysis of the linguistic material is used to indicate the criteria for the authority of the Bukovinian political writing, its role as a standard in establishing norms of literary language. The dynamics of the descriptive resources (vocabulary and phraseology) of the style of political writing of the period is investigated.
