The object is Chekhov's Stories 1880-1888.The aims to single out the main characteristic features of new types of narration and to analyse the most important principles of interaction of epic, dramatic and lyric layers of narrative in Chekhov's prose of the 80s. Methods - historical-literary, system and typological. The new approach lies in studing tjhe new genre types of Chekhov's stories. The analysis of Chekhov's stories from the point of view of genre and stylistic peculiarities helps to understand the nature of his artistic achievements that open a new stage in the development of 20th century prose. N.Kozireva analyses the most important principles of interaction of epic, dramatic and lyric layers of narrative in Chekhov's prose of the 80s, which led to the creation of new forms of stories. The epic, dramatic and lyric components are included into the creative synthesis. Sphere of use is training courses.
