Essay

The dissertation is devoted to a relevant problem of dermatology, i.e. studying certain components of the psoriasis pathogenesis and searching new efficacious methods for its therapy. The results are presented of in-depth studying on the state of free-radical processes and fatty-acid composition in both serum lipids and leukocyte membranes as well as certain characteristics of immune status in patients with psoriasis. The characteristic changes were revealed in anti-prooxidant homeostasis that correlated with modifications in fatty-acid composition in both serum lipids and leukocyte membranes depending upon clinical running features of psoriasis. A new method of the treatment for psoriasis is developed, which makes use of a lipid modulator Tecom, and its efficacy is shown in clinic. Informative prognostic criteria were found to facilitate the evaluation of therapeutic effect of UV in patients with different clinical running of psoriasis. The therapies used normalized parameters of the anti-prooxidant homeostasis, lipid metabolism and immune system, which was accompanied with positive clinical dynamics in dermatosis running, shortened term of the treatment, and prolonged remission.
