Essay

Using tensiometric method the mechanisms of relaxant action of nitric oxide on smooth muscle cells of common and internal carotid arteries of the rat have been studied and compared. Voltage-clamp ("patch-clamp") method have been applied to study and compare pharmaco-biophysical properties of transmembrane outward potassium currents of smooth muscle cells of common and internal carotid arteries. In addition action of nitric oxide on these currents have been studied.
