Dudenko O. Nominative and communicative nature of Ukrainian proverbs

The dissertation is devoted to the research of Ukrainian proverbs as lingual-mental, symbolic- semiotic and communicative units. The complex linguistic analysis of the nature of proverbs as units of language and speech is applied. The peculiarities and mechanisms of proverbial nomination are revealed. The specific features of proverbs as symbolic signs of typical situations are detailed. The functioning of proverbs as auto-semantemes, indirect speech acts and their possible transformations in the process of actualization are described. The expediency of classifying proverbs as communicatively indivisible statements is grounded. The necessity of considering proverbs as phraseologized sentences of "ideal" structure is proved.
