Chobotko A. The problems of V. V. Rozanov's perception of M. V. Gogol's personality and creative work

The object of this paper is the belles-lettres works and articles of V. Rozanov in the period between 1890-1910. The goal of the research is to prove the importance and significance of Rozanov's negation in his attitude to M. Gogol. The methodology of the dissertation is based on the unity of the genetic, comparative and typological methods.The genesis of directing V. Rozanov's attention to the creative heritage of M. Gogol have been researched. The main outlook directions of the contradictions between V. Rozanov and M. Gogol have been defined, V.Rozanov's characteristics and appraisals of some of M.Gogol's belles-lettres works and their characters have been generalized and systematized. Rozanov's and Gogol's understanding of the role and place of writers and literature in the society has been determined and the sources of Rozanov's understanding of Gogol's personality have been substantiated. The main stages of Rozanov's attitude to the creative activity and personality of M. Gogol also have been described. The results of the research are planned to be inculcated upon the teaching process. The sphere of use of the results is teaching and scientific work.
