The object of the research of the lingvodidactical heritage of I Ogienko. The aim is the definition and use of the methods of the development of the Ukrainian speech in the extracurrical work of the 5-7 form. The methods used in the research are the chronological, theoretical and empiric. The novelty - the definition of the factors of the formation of the individual of a scientist, principles and demands to the content of the teaching, lessons and texts of the native language. For the first time were defined the ways of the realization of the I. Ogienko "native-language duty" in practise; the results consist in the development of the experimental methods, directed to the development of the Ukrainian speech of the pupils of the 5-7 forms. The given ivestigation was introduced into the process of the teaching and upbringing of the 5-7 form pupils. The branch - the education science.
