Koval A. Prediction and prevention of postoperative pulmonary complications in surgical treatment of inflammatory diseases of hepato-biliary region.

The object are patients with inflammatory bile duct diseases; the aims to work up predictive rules of development of postoperative respiratory complications and pulmonary embolism in patients with inflammatory bile duct diseases; the methods are general clinical, statistical, roentgenography, ultrasonography, morphological; the new approach lies in working out of the methods of individual prognostication of the development of postoperative respiratory complications and pulmonary embolism and unifying of preventive measures for each of risk groups; methods of individual prognostication of the development of postoperative respiratory complications and pulmonary embolism were worked out and according to the levels of risk of postoperative pulmonary complications the application of preventive measures was unified; all this thesis has been introduced in surgical departments; the field is general surgery.
