Potassium channels encoded by HERG human gene were expressed in model systeme of Xenopus oocytes. It was shown that HERG channels effectively blocked by neuroleptics haloperidol, pimozide and fluspirilene in micromolar range of concentrations. Mail sex gormone testosterone is able to decrease the amplitude of currents through expressed HERG channels and to diminish block induced by neuroleptics. It is recomended to take into account the effect of testosterone on blocking action of neuroleptics in developing new cures.
