Vilchinska I. Ethnic and national identity of the contemporary Ukrainian youth

The thesis investigates the notions and peculiarities of ethnic and national identity manifestation in the consciousness of the contemporary Ukrainian youth. These notions are analysed in the context of the Ukrainian society democratization, ethnic-national renaissanse of the Ukrainian people, forming the new social-cultural realities in the end of XXth - beginning of XXIth century. Basing on the sociologic data analysis the author defines the main problems of forming the ethnic and national identity of the Ukrainian youth. The thesis investigates the ways of formation of the new paradygm of the life orientations and values of the latter. The thesis contain the definition of the students role in the process of ethnic-national identity formation. The author proposes the mightly ways to improve the state politics toward youth and its harmonization with ethnic-national politics in Ukraine.
