Essay

Existing methods and means for image synthesis in visualization systems of vehicle simulators. The aims are to develop models, algorithms and structures of high-performance application-specific processors synthesizing realistic terrain images. The methods are analythic geometry, linear algebra, approximation. Model of terrain surface based on finite functions has been proposed aided for visualization by ray tracing method for real time visualization systems. Scanning algorithm for proposed terrain model has been developed. Method of optimization of scanning parameters has been proposed. Results of this work were applied to modernization of digital visualization systems in flight simulators. The field is visualization systems of vehicle simulators
