The object of study is the Ukrainian scientific and technical terminology which has been represented into modern dictionaries. The aim of this work is to find out peculiarities of the semantic relations in the present terminology. Descriptive, comparative, quantitative methods and method of analysis of definitions were used. The novelty and results - the concepts "homonymous groups into terminology", "terminological synonymous combination", "terminological antonymous pair" were introduced; the peculiarities of semantic relations were investigated in comparison with the same relations into commonly used vocabulary; the poysemantic, homonymous, synonymous, antonymous terms were analysed thoroughly; the peculiarities of representation of them in the dictionaries of 90-ies of XX century - at the beginning of XXI century were found out; the recommendations were worked out for the diminution of polysemantic and synonymous terms in present terminology. Application field is semantics, lexicography, terminography.
