The thesis is devoted to the investigation of theoretical and methodological basis of optimization the functions of executive power bodies of Ukraine. Analyzed are the peculiarities of organizing, functioning of executive power bodies system in modern Ukraine and state of realization by them of main administrativ functions. Based on the conceptual aspects of modernization of role, functions of state and functions of the executive power in the conditions of transformation period and formation of civil society, the conclusions and recommendations concerning the functions of public administration optimization are formulated.
