Soloshenko V. Surgical treatment of electrical burns of upper limb with neuromuscular complex injuries

The patients with electrical burns of upper limb with neuromuscular complex injuries. The improvement of surgical treatment of patients with neuromuscular complex injuries owing to decrease in the number of complications, shortened the length of stay in hospital and improved the functional results of treatment. The research methods - clinical, laboratorical, electrophysiological, instrumental, statistical. Scientific explanation of the system of diagnostics and treatment of upper limb injuries caused by electrical burns. New method of determining the muscular tissue viability, which consists in diagnosing bioelectrical activity of a viable muscle. In the group of patients, where surgical treatment was based on the results of electromyography research, we observed a fivefold decrease in the number of purulent complications, while the length of stay in hospital shortened by 9,8 days. The study of muscles in dynamics has proved the possibility of muscular tissue regeneration only in the presence of biologically favorable medium. To create it, we performed transplantation of vasculatured flaps and tissue complexes, which reduced the number of vascular complications by 1,65 times, limb amputations by 1,35 times, and improved the functional results of treatment. The high effectiveness of such treatment process proves the necessity of its being adopted and widely used in medical education and practice.
