Essay

In presented work shown that latrotoxin-like protein increases ATP-induced homotypic membrane fusion. This feature of latrotoxin-like protein could be modulated by phosphorilation/dephosphorilation, changing pH and by N-ethilmaleimid treatment. It was found that latrotoxin-like protein has ATPase activity which is similar to that in proteins of AAA family ATPases. It was shown that application of latrotoxin-like protein markedly increased the apmlitude of P-type Ca-current and less - L-type Ca-current. Experiments on latrotoxin-like protein effects on sponaneous activity of neurons revealed that application of protein slightly increased the amplitude but markedly increased the frequency of GABA-ergic IPSC. Thus, latrotoxin-like protein possibly take part in synaptic transmission.
