History of origin and development of the crown of sonnets in Ukrainian poetry. The objective was to study this specific poetic genre form, to identify and examine its stanza-architectonic modifications and genre-thematic varieties. Having investigated the works of Ukrainian and foreign scientists in this field, the author ascertained the time and place of origin of the crown of sonnets both in the world and national poetry and retraced the development of this genre form in Ukrainian literature. Methods: historical-genetic, historical-comparative and the method of typological analysis combined with the principles of philological text comment.
