The research is devoted to the search of markers of endotoxemia in septic processes. Taking into account the role of immunocompetent cells in recognizing antigenes and forming specific immune defense, the investigation of lymphocytic populations, systemic levels of cytokines, and levels of expression of activation molecules is done to determine divergences of these parameters in cases of bacterial and non-bacterial diseases. Activation molecules HLA-DR+ in CD3+, level of NK-cells, and systemic levels of TNF are proposed as markers of endotoxemia of bacterial origin. Determining of these parameters may contribute to the improvement of diagnosing among the diseases grouped under the common title "Fevers of unknown origin" and to the assessment of infective endocarditis activity.
